Lora Scott, 88, of rural Sweet Springs, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Lutheran Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will play "In the Garden." Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Pallbearers will be Phillip Ballenger, Danny Ballenger, Brad Ballenger, Rusty Ballenger, Rick Ballenger and Ronnie Ballenger. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
Born Dec. 1, 1914, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Henry Ballenger and Viola Vedenhaupt Ballenger. On Sept. 24, 1934, she married Charles V. Scott, who survives of the home. She had lived in rural Sweet Springs her entire life. She was a homemaker and was a retired cook from Skelly Truckstop.
Additional survivors include two sons, Charles E. "Sonny" Scott of rural Sweet Springs and Larry C. Scott of rural Sweet Springs; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son in infancy, four brothers and three sisters.
