Lucille A.K. Kurtz Willis, 73, of Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Christ Lutheran Church near Sweet Springs. Rev. Douglas A. Dubisar will officiate. Congregational hymns will be "Rock of Ages" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City. Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs.
Born Nov. 6, 1929, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Henry Carl Kurtz and Ida A.L. Reinwald Kurtz. She married Leonard Keller, who preceded her in death. She then married Virgil Willis, who also preceded her in death. She had returned to live in Sweet Springs five years ago and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church near Sweet Springs. She was retired from Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City, where she was a lab technician. She had graduated from East High School in Kansas City.
Survivors include one sister, Marcella K. Ellison of Raytown; one brother, Harold Kurtz of Raytown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Kurtz.
