Vera Hume Tussey, 91, of Hot Springs, Ark., formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Hot Springs.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Union Cemetery in Saline County. Rev. N. Paul Callahan will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Union Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born March 9, 1912, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Robert William Hume and Laura May Kiser Hume. On Feb. 17, 1940, in Kansas City, she married Theodore H. "Ted" Tussey, who preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1988. She had moved from Kansas City to Hot Springs in 1961. She was a resident of Marshall from 1972 to 1982, when she moved back to Hot Springs. She was a graduate of William Jewell College in Liberty. She had been a school teacher and retired as a legal secretary in Kansas City.
Survivors include one niece; three greatnephews; one great-greatnephew; and three great-greatnieces; and several cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Oswald Hume, and one sister, Mary Sydenstricker.
