Gene Ussery, 78, of Marshall, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Mark Gooden will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bob Eidson, Bud Weber, Fred Eidson, Greg Jasper, Willard Adolphs and Bob Holland. Honorary pallbearer will be Charlie Eidson. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Marshall Family Worship Center.
Born May 3, 1925, in Windsor, he was the son of the late Sylvester Ussery and Francis Teague Ussery. On May 15, 1976, he married Helen J. Manning Buck, who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County most of his life and was a member of Marshall Family Worship Center. He was co-owner and operator of Eidson and Ussery Trucking for more than 30 years.
Additional survivors include two stepsons, Carl Buck of Marshall and Mike Buck of Slater; two brothers, Kenny Ussery of rural Nelson and Jack Ussery of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one stepdaughter and one sister.
