Clarona Ellen Barrett, 77, of Slater, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at First Baptist Church in Aurora. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater and 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora. Memorials are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home.
Born Aug. 29, 1926, in Monett, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Prunty and Ruth Amanda Zug Prunty Wheeler. On July 6, 1942, in Aurora, she married Rev. Tommy R. Barrett, who survives of the home. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church near Slater and a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She had lived in Slater the past nine years, moving from Troy.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Pettit and Ruth Ellen Ziehmer, both of California; one brother, Arthur Prunty Jr. of Orland, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Clarona Jensen, and one half brother.
