Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at First Christian Church in Sedalia. Rev. Bob Wasson will officiate. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. A memorial registry will be available to sign from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, and Wednesday, Oct. 22, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia. Memorials are suggested to the Katy Trail Foundation, Bothwell Regional Health Center-Chemo Unit and the landscaping fund at First Christian Church in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Born May 9, 1951, in Kirksville, she was the daughter of Charles Clifford and Barbara Joan Wilson Lear, who survive. On Oct. 16, 1977, she married Gregg M. Foster, who survives of the home. She was a 1969 Marshall High School graduate and attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall and State Fair Community College in Sedalia. She obtained a bachelor of science degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg in May 1989. She was a member of First Christian Church in Sedalia, where she was a Vacation Bible School coordinator, and, most recently, a member of the landscaping committee, worship committee and co-president of Group 5. She was also a team captain for Relay for Life for many years. She spent four years touring the United States as a singer/dancer with KS Entertainment Enterprises and Jackson Artists in the early 1970s. In 1980, she opened the Red Hots Dance Studio, where she taught for 16 years. She also taught English, speech and theater in Missouri public schools for 14 years.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Rhiannon M. Foster of Sedalia; one son, Lear W. Foster of Sedalia; and one grandson.
