Rachel Leah Doty, 92, of rural Nelson, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at Blackwater Church of Christ in Blackwater. Minister Chris Harper and Chris Guerreo will officiate. Pallbearers will be Randall Doty, Brandon Walker, Monte Ellis, Chris Guerreo, Jeff Mankins, Jeff Francis, David McWilliams, Mark Davis and Chris Harper. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Old Lamine Cemetery in Cooper County. Memorials are suggested to Blackwater Church of Christ in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home of Marshall.

Born Dec. 25, 1910, in Ott, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Denver Price and Katherine Hamie Hager Price. On April 21, 1935, in Kansas City, she married Riley Doty, who preceded her in death May 10, 2000. She had lived in Saline County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Blackwater Church of Christ. She graduated from Harding Academy in Morrilton, Ark.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Harper and husband Clyde of California and Judy Walker and husband Gary of rural Napton; two sons, Robert Doty and wife Joyce of rural Nelson and Alan Doty and wife Jane of Cottonwood, Ariz.; one sister, Eva Mae Jones of Dolores, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Mark Harper; four brothers and one sister.
