Gladys Marie Sippel Ficklin, 96, of Marshall, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Cremation. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly. Ann Parish-Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly. Memorials are suggested to Butterfield Youth Services or Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born July 20, 1907, in Randolph County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wilhelm Sippel and Minnie Bunnell Sippel. In 1929, she married George C. Ficklin, who preceded her in death in April 1956. She had lived in Marshall the last 11 years, moving from Bolivar and previously living in Jefferson City. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City and was a graduate of Moberly High School. She retired in 1969 from the State of Missouri-Division of Welfare, where she had worked for 33 years.
Survivors include one daughter, George Ann Meuschke of Marshall; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; one stepgreat-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
