William James "Boss" Parker, 58, of Peoria, Ill., formerly of Slater, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at St. Paul Baptist Church in Peoria. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery in Peoria. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Simons Chapel in Peoria.
Born Feb. 15, 1945, in Slater, he was the son of the late Zeona and Irene Dobbins Parker. He married Emma Parker, who survives of the home. He attended Slater High School and worked at Peoria Caterpillar Company for more than 30 years.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Colette Parker of Peoria; five sons, Billy Parker of Marshall and John Cosely Parker, Kevin Parker, Demetry Parker and Darrell Parker, all of Peoria; two brothers, Ronald Parker and Gregory Parker of Peoria; one stepbrother, Everett Chess of Marshall; four sisters, Wilma McAlister of Rockford, Ill., Royce "Fred" Danage Jr. and Deborah Parker, all of Peoria, and Joyce Ganaway of Slater; and one grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Iola Parker, and one brother.
