Eleanor Rea Bell, 87, of Marshall, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will play "On Eagle's Wings" and "Amazing Grace." Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Joseph Bledsoe, Max V. Sleeper, Steve Harris, Jeff Harris, Darren Harris and James Johnson. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born March 8, 1916, in Moberly, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. Harris Sr. and Ora Leigh Yowell Harris. On Sept. 3, 1941, she married Earl Bell, who preceded her in death Dec. 6, 1977. She had lived in Saline County most of her life and was family planning coordinator for more than 20 years at Missouri Valley Human Resource Center. She was a graduate of Moberly High School and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall and the Sorosis Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherrie J. Bledsoe of Marshall Junction and Scientia "Sindy" Sleeper of Marshall; two sisters, Mildred Ann Franklin of rural Slater and Hart Vaughn of El Cajon, Calif.; one brother, Joseph W. Harris Jr. of Slater; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
