Ellen Bredehoeft, 82, of Concordia, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 24, 2003, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia. Pastor Andrew Kennell will officiate. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Grade School.
Born Oct. 6, 1920, in Concordia, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Flandermeyer and Meta Hinck Flandermeyer. On Nov. 17, 1946, she married Vernon "Dick" Bredehoeft, who preceded her in death March 28, 1987. She had lived in Concordia since 1976, moving from rural Emma. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia and had been a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and its Ladies' Aide in Emma until she transferred her membership to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She had worked at Rose-A-Linda turkey hatchery for several years, then in the laundry department of the Lutheran nursing home. She later worked at Casey's General Store for 13 years and was a homemaker. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Tebbenkamp of rural Slater, Diane Johnson of Concordia and Denise Aversman of rural Concordia; two sons, Larry Bredehoeft of St. Joseph and Robert Bredehoeft of Concordia; one sister, Mildred Bredehoeft of Concordia; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers.
