William E. "Bill" Jacobs, 74, of Palm Springs, Calif., formerly of Marshall, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at his home.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Rev. John Swisher will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born May 4, 1929, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Daniel B. Jacobs and Dora E. Whitney Jacobs. He was a self-employed used automobile dealer for many years.
Survivors include one son, Randy Jacobs of Columbia; one daughter, Janet Griggs of Charlotte, N.C.; four brothers, Louis Jacobs of New Port Ritchey, Fla., Sam Jacobs of Hazardville, Conn., Jerry Jacobs of Marshall and Joe Jacobs of Palm Springs, Calif.; three sisters, Virginia Gilmore, Evalene Poppinga and Linda Black, all of Marshall; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
