Emma Davis, 86, of Marshall, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Rev. Rich Shugert will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, 226 S. Odell, Marshall, MO 65340.
Born March 6, 1917, in Menefee, Ark., she was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Melviney Green Alexander. On Sept. 8, 1934, she married Oscar Davis, who preceded her in death Dec. 21, 1995. She had lived in Marshall since 1999, moving from Kansas City. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and a member of AARP.
Survivors include three sons, Oscar Junior Davis of the state of California, Lloyd Davis of the state of California and Bobby Joe Davis of Marshall; four daughters, Glorestine "Joy" Jones of Kansas City, Romaine Okeke of Marshall, Betty Ann Johnson of Kansas City, Kan., and Marsha Kirkenvall of Kansas City, Kan.; one sister, Gertrude Miles of Plumerville, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Fred Davis and Ben L. Davis, and two brothers, George Alexander and Willie Alexander.
