Mamie E. Garrison, 89, of Mayview, formerly of Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. Music will be "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art." Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery in Elmwood. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born Dec. 29, 1913, in Elmwood, she was the daughter of the late Jess Hursman. She married George Martin, who preceded her in death. She later married George Garrison, who also preceded her in death. She had lived in Mayview the last six years, moving from Houstonia. She was a member of the Assembly of God church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Russell Martin of Houstonia; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Ellsworth Martin, one daughter, Mimie Martin, and three brothers.
