Gladys Irene Goldin, 90, of Marshall, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Hebrew Cemetery in Sedalia. Rabbi Yossi Feintuch will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra, Marshall Public Library or the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Jan. 23, 1913, in Sedalia, she was the daughter of the late Orrin Clyde Smith and Georgeina Rudge Smith. On Aug. 20, 1934, she married Sammie Goldin, who preceded her in death in 1974. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a 1931 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia. She had worked as a secretary for Milton Oil Company in Sedalia and later for her husband at Goldin Air in Marshall. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of Temple Beth El in Sedalia, Marshall Garden Club, Sorosis Club, Housewives Bowling League and had been active in the P.T.A. and Mothers' Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Sara Williams and husband Tom of Warrensburg, Becky Allred and husband Glen of Marshall and Charlotte Smith and husband Doug of Marshall; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and one great-granddaughter.
