Lottie J. Jo McClain Edwards, 91, formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Providence Baptist Church near Williamstown. Pastor Greg Mann will officiate. Pallbearers will be Danny Edwards, Dennis Edwards, David Edwards, Alex Kearns-Edwards and Mike Hudnut. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery in Williamstown. Services are under the direction of Bentley Funeral Home in Durant, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the World War II Veteran's Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Born Sept. 18, 1911, in Williamstown, she was the daughter of the late Herley and Fannie Ann Brewer McClain. In 1930, she married Richard Webster of Williamstown, who preceded her in death in 1944. In 1948, she married Raymond Clifford Edwards, who preceded her in death in 1969. She graduated from Williamstown High School in 1929 and attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton. She taught country school for five years. She was a member of AARP and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Edwards of Durant, Iowa, David Edwards of Hartsburg and Danny Edwards of Kansas City; one sister, Jackie Prebe of Peoria, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Hudnut, and one brother, Max McClain.
