Kenneth Ray "Heavy" Dittmer, 50, of Sweet Springs, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. Rev. Gene Ekstrand will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Steinkuhler, Bill Samson, Gary Jenkins, James Smith, Dennis Klussman, Jim Harrington, Leon Sylvester and Tom Newton. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Emma. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Born March 11, 1953, in Sweet Springs, he was the son of the late Herbert Dittmer and Mabel Landes Dittmer. He had lived in Sweet Springs his entire life and had worked at Continental Deli in Concordia. He was a Presbyterian and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include one brother, Ron Dittmer of Sweet Springs; one sister, Mary Schowengerdt of Sweet Springs; two nephews; and one great-nephew.
