Robert A. "Bob" Barton, 67, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will provide the music. Friends may call until 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the funeral home. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rites at graveside. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Born April 10, 1936, in Napton, he was the son of the late George Wilbur Barton and Margaret Irene Welch Barton. On March 15, 1955, he married Arthurlee "Terry" Silor. He had lived in Mesa the last 25 years, moving from Marshall. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church in Napton and was a retired auto parts salesman. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include one daughter, Vicki L. Preboth of Wichita, Kan.; six sisters, Nellie Thornton of Slater, Gertrude Moore of Marshall, Alline Moore of Marshall, Mabel Tennill of Slater, Edelia Cumpton of Marshall and Mary Melies of Liberty; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Wilbur Barton.
