Merle D. Smith, 77, of Blue Springs, formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Harry S Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Hoefer Chapel in Higginsville. Pastor Justin Dix officiated.
