A pair of single-vehicle crashes in Saline County left two people injured Sunday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the first crash occurred about 4 a.m. Sunday on Route YY just over half a mile west of County Road 331.

Tyler J. Capp, 23, of Marshall was driving eastbound in a 2000 Ford F250 when the truck traveled off the right side of the roadway. The report states Capp overcorrected and the truck traveled off the left side of the roadway where it struck a ditch and overturned.

Capp, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall by private vehicle. He was issued a summons for careless and imprudent driving, driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

About 12 hours later, Michelle L. Bulen, 31, of Boonville was also involved in a crash. At 4:38 p.m. Bulen was driving eastbound on Missouri Highway 240 in a 1991 Nissan. Just east of County Road 130 the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. Bulen overcorrected and the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, striking a ditch and overturning end over end.

Bulen suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall. She was issued a summons for careless and imprudent driving and failure to wear a seat belt.
