A special sales tax task force met on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Old School House in Arrow Rock, where members discussed the economic development tax proposal that will be on the ballot of the April municipal election. Task force members present at Wednesday’s meeting were: Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey, Northern Commissioner Richard Clemens, Southern Commissioner Monte Fenner, Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Executive Director Stan Moore, Chairman of the Arrow Rock Town Board Kirby McCullough, task force treasurer Donald Vogelsmeier, Marshall Junction representative Greg Swift, Slater representative Russell Griffith, Marshall representative David Haugland, and president and chief compliance officer of McLiney and Company, Joey McLiney, an attorney assisting the Saline County Commission with the legal components of the economic development sales tax proposal.. ... -
Commission talks annual bids, task force meeting

County Clerk Debbie Russell announced the county clerk’s office is in the process of putting together all of the certification paperwork for candidate filings of the April municipal election. “We’ve already done just one precinct alone, and there was 11 different ballot styles,” Russell reported during a Saline County Commission meeting on Thursday, Jan. 25. “We’ve got a lot of different things going on for the election.”...
