MVC to host "READ from the START" program

Fitzgibbon Cancer Center receives funds from Pig Out lunch (Local News ~ 12/01/15)
Representatives from the Ashford Agency present a $2,400 check to Fitzgibbon Hospital's Community Cancer Center Tuesday, Dec. 1. The funds were raised at the annual Pig Out for Pink Out lunch, which took place Oct. 23, and was sponsored by the Ashford Agency and Cargill Meat Solutions. Cargill was unable to send any representatives to the check presentation. Malta Bend Schools takes chance on 2-year athletic co-op

New road district building nearing completion

According to the Marshall Police Department, citizens have recently reported receiving telephone calls from persons saying they represent the Internal Revenue Service -- or IRS. These individuals are threatening citizens by telling them they are going to be sued by the IRS for a past debt. The caller then provides a telephone number for the citizen to contact to make payment arrangements so they will not have to go to court...

MSDC Executive Director steps down

The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation met in closed session Tuesday, Dec. 1, where Director Bill Riggins notified the board of his resignation effective immediately. Riggins spoke briefly about his time at MSDC during a phone interview, and said since he took the position in 2011, some of the bigger projects he was involved in were obtaining a contract for the old Fitzgibbon Hospital, getting the Marshall School system into the Spainhower Building at the Marshall Habilitation Center and also creating the housing in Slater for consumers from the habilitation center who elected to go into private housing.. ...
