E911 sees spike in VoIP calls

The E911 Board of Directors celebrated the center's two-year anniversary at the Thursday, Feb. 16, board meeting. Director Stacie Smith announced the center received 14,323 calls in January, which is up from December's total of 13,804. This past month 21 percent of the calls were made from landlines, and 79 percent were made from cell phones. Also 3 percent of calls came from Voice over Internet Protocol devices...
