County receives funding from SEMA

County Road and Bridge Supervisor Justin Cowart reported the county expect to receive an electronic transfer of $4,803 toward the total cost of the 2011 flood from SEMA. The county already received $14,256 in December. Cowart explained the funding will help the county repair "above and beyond what was there, to keep it from getting damaged again."...

Community encouraged to attend development meeting

The Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission will be in Marshall on Thursday, Jan. 19, at noon to gather community input for the compilation of the 2012 Community Economic Development Strategy for the four-county region covering Lafayette, Johnson, Pettis and Saline counties. The meeting will be held at the Marshall Municipal Utilities building at 1455 W. Arrow St.
