Saline County 911 Commission members heard from several people during their meeting Thursday, June 18, including community members with questions or complaints about rural address markers. Director Pam Teague gave a report of the complaints she has received in relation to the rural address markers, which included 28 reports of incorrect markers placed near a resident's driveway, six reports of no markers placed by residents' homes, 18 requests that the commission approve markers' relocation and three calls from residents who dislike the way markers look.. ...

Stover woman charged for resisting arrest

Sarah A. Stout, 18, of Stover, was charged Thursday, June 18, with class A misdemeanor resisting arrest in connection with an incident at a Malta Bend residence the previous day. According to an incident report filed by Saline County Sheriff's Department, Stout was asked to leave the residence but refused to do so. The report indicates that witnesses on the scene also said Stout prevented them from calling for help several times, but eventually contact was made with local authorities...

Boonville woman charged with passing bad check in Slater

Amber N. Roth, 26, of Boonville, has been charged with class C felony passing a bad check in connection with a July 2008 incident at a store in Slater. According to the incident report from Slater Police Department, Roth wrote a check for $225 at a Slater business July 21, 2008, and closed the account on which the check was written just two days later. Attempts by the retailer to contact Roth were unsuccessful, and the case was turned over to Slater Police in September 2008...

Angela M. Rouk, 28, of Marshall, has been charged with class A misdemeanor assault in the third degree with physical injury in connection with an incident in Marshall Monday, June 15. According to an incident report filed by Marshall Police Department, Rouk attacked another woman, pulled her hair, choked her, and punched and slapped her. The woman was treated at Fitzgibbon hospital for her injuries...
