Aldermen express support for possible county fire district (Local News ~ 09/21/01)
After a presentation on the matter, the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen has expressed an interest in becoming part of a countywide fire protection district. Marshall Assistant Fire Chief Steve Drake made the presentation on behalf of the Saline County Association of Fire Chiefs. He said the plan for the district came about in April 1998 when a countywide survey of equipment, personnel and other resources showed a number of problems concerning fire protection in Saline County... -
