Though the history behind the Sac and Fox Nation's emblem is not well known, their history as a people can be traced back to before the French and Indian War. Adrian Pushetonqua brushes black paint onto a buffalo hide in short strokes, shading in feathers of the eagle that represents his nation. Pushetonqua is the current tribal chairman, as well as an artist, and has come to Van Meter State Park to contribute to a buffalo hide project at the American Indian Cultural Museum...

A recent report card for Missouri schools reveals that the state has slightly increased its standing since last year, according to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The "Quality Counts" report, Education Week's annual report on state-level public education improvements, reflected Missouri's national ranking jumping from 42 to 38.
