From the looks of the large pile of cereal boxes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day at Marshall Senior Center, at least for now. The center is collecting hot and cold cereal, or monetary donations, for the 2009 Saline County Holiday Project, with a goal of 400 boxes by Friday, Dec. 4. As of Wednesday, Nov. 4, the center had already collected about 200 boxes since it began a couple of weeks ago...
Community Chorus tackles new challenges in 21st season (10/21/09)
Marshall Community Chorus kicks off its 21st season Sunday, Oct. 25, with a concert of folk songs from around the world, titled "Going Home." Marshall council approves park board members (10/06/09)
The Marshall City Council raised city license fees and approved two members for the city parks department board at its meeting Monday evening, Oct. 5. Council members approved two ordinances amending city codes. The occupational, or merchant, and cigarette license regulations were amended to increase license fees from $25 to $50. Regulations on the purchase of alcoholic beverages were changed to increase the price of a license to sell liquor by the drink from $375 to $450.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, Marshall Mayor Connie Latimer signed a proclamation declaring the month of October as National Disability Employment Awareness month. Both Marshall Habilitation Center employees and consumers were present at the event.
