Barn quilt dedication ceremony celebrates rural heritage

A process that began four years ago is spreading throughout the Boonslick area -- attempting to save historic barns. Many barns have deteriorated over time and are more like endangered species than functioning structures. In each county it represents, Boonslick Area Tourism Council identified as many as 80 possible barns eligible for the Barn Quilts of the Boonslick program, which displays a large quilt pattern on the face of the building...
Upcoming Craft and Art Festival packed with vendors, supports local arts

It seemed so far away, then, suddenly, March arrived. Marshall Cultural Council's first annual Craft and Art Festival is coming together and the all-day event is scheduled Saturday, March 26. The festival boasts 60 vendors and MCC is still taking calls on a standby basis, according to Vice President Kathy Green. If another eight to 10 vendors would like to sign up, Green said another section could possibly open up...
