Littrell said he can remember in fifth-grade when Skylar Simpson's favorite saying was "Are you serious?" So he decided to give her the "Are you serious?" award. (Rachel Harper/Democrat-News)

Littrell said he can remember four years ago when he was teaching fifth-grade religion walking into class and seeing a young man with hair bushed out everywhere and kicking his feet, but his feet weren't touching the ground. Kristen's award was for "having a pencil for one whole period." Littrell said he can remember when she would lose a pencil at least twice a week. He said the funny thing is she had the pencil when she came into class, but they could never find it after that. Littrell said he made them pay for a pencil by doing push-ups for fun. "She did more push-ups in fifth and sixth grade" than any other classmate. (Rachel Harper/Democrat-News)
