Signs of spring 2008

Early spring is a photogenic time what with flowers strutting their stuff, trees budding and blooming, potholes sparkling with rainwater, etc. We'd like to share scenes and signs of spring and invite photographers in the community to send theirs, too. If you have a spring photo to add to this gallery, send it by email to marshalleditor@socket.net or bring it by The Marshall Democrat-News office, a block north of the Marshall square on Lafayette Avenue.

Dandelions on South Brunswick Avenue April 24. Dandelions would be kind of pretty if we weren't instructed from a young age to despise them and to spare no expense evicting them from our lawns. I was, anyway. It's one aspect of my training as a youth that didn't take very well. I wasn't able to generate much animosity toward crab grass, either, though I know it's only right to fight the encroaching menace. (Eric Crump/Democrat-News)
