Student art at 2009 Philharmonic "Pops" Concert

Every year at the Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra's "Pops" Concert, audiences not hear the sounds of the orchestra's program but have a chance to see Bueker Middle School student artwork created to complement the final selection.

This year, the final composition was "Variations on a Korean Folk Song," so fifth-, sixth- and eighth-graders used various Asian elements and influences in their creations.

Teachers Kristen McWhirt and Laura Richardson oversaw the project and Velma Allen provided the technical expertise necessary to display the students' work on a big screen everyone in the Harold Lickey Auditorium could see.
