A number of organizations line up Thursday afternoon, Oct. 19, to celebrate the beginning of this year’s cornhusking festivities. The Marshall Police Department, Marshall Fire Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Department led the Marshall High School Band, which set the pace for those who followed. Organizations such as Wood & Huston Bank, Mar-Saline Manor, Ashford Agency, Knights of Columbus, and Cub Scouts tossed candy to children lining the streets, and a number of farm machinery and horses and buggies emphasized the weekend’s cornhusking competitions.
