Corn Husking Education Day 2012

Students from schools throughout the county filed off their buses and onto Saline County Fairground Thursday morning for Corn Husking Education Day. Stations were set up to present a variety of agricultural and household tools that people once used on the farm.

Students saw how cornmeal was once made, gears that twisted fencing together, an old apple juicer and many other items that dated back to the turn of the 20th century.

Corn Husking Education Day kicks-off the Missouri State Corn Husking festivities, which take place throughout the weekend.
