2016 Run for the Wall

Spectators gather as a horde of patriots and motorcycle enthusiasts passes through Saline County on Interstate 70 Monday afternoon, May 23, en route to Washington, DC, during the 28th annual Run for the Wall. During the event, large groups of motorcyclists traverse the distance of the country, culminating at the Vietnam War Memorial with the goal of raising awareness for foreign combatants of the U.S. Military who are still missing in action or prisoners of war. Monday's portion of the run's central route, one of three separate routes the run takes across the country, began in Junction City, Kan., making stops in Concordia and Columbia along the way with a daily stopping point in Wentzville, Mo. The central route is scheduled to reach the nation's capitol Friday, May 27. Saturday, riders will tour Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam War Memorial before participating in the Rolling Thunder Parade on Sunday. (Arron Hustead/Democrat-News)
