Late comeback powers Chiefs past 'Hounds at Sweet Springs Homecoming

The Sweet Springs Greyhounds hosted the Santa Fe Chiefs for their annual Homecoming game Friday, Sept. 25. Four first half touchdowns from Sweet Springs seniors Mario Persell and Justin Mitchell and sophomore quarterback Zack Giffen gave the 'Hounds a 26-14 lead at halftime. However, Santa Fe senior quarterback Ben Hinz hit senior Luke Schmidt with a number of big passes down the stretch to close the lead. Several fourth quarter turnovers sealed the 'Hounds fate as the Chiefs completed a second half shutout to come from behind and spoil the Homecoming party with a 48-26 victory.
