Somebody Stop the World
As you know, I usually have plenty to say. But I'm just not sure WHAT to say right now. All I know is that it seems the world has gone crazy ... And I mean it this time!
All three branches of our government seem to have lost their collective mind. Purchasing and owning guns is close to becoming a criminal offense while people from all around the world -- mostly from the Middle East -- are coming to our shores to murder those who are not allowed to carry guns, or those who choose not to, or both.
Americans are getting their heads cut off by Islamic militants and our government sits around and does nothing about it. And while our leaders are ecstatically shouting from the rooftops in celebration of a nuclear arms deal with Iran, Iran's own Supreme Leader, who has the last word on high matters of state in Iran, said the deal didn't change anything and that Iran had no intention of keeping with the accord.
Police departments are pushed to the side by troops and federal marshals while cities burn. I read recently where more police officers have been shot and killed in the several months following the riots in Ferguson and Baltimore than in any similar time frame prior.
There are rumors that the massive military training exercise currently underway -- called Jade Helm 15 -- is just a masquerade for more sinister purposes. The fact that many of the troops involved are from the United Nations, China, and several other foreign countries, including some Middle Eastern nations, is reason enough to cause grave concern about the entire program.
Meanwhile, Christians -- upon whose values and principles our nation was founded - are ridiculed and put down and spat upon and left on the fringes while non-believers, lukewarm church members, and those who call themselves believers but act as if they aren't sit on the sidelines and point fingers at those who would choose to serve their heavenly Father as well as their fellow man.
I see all of this happening and wonder where it all will lead. I've read the Bible enough to know some of these things look a lot like those things that are supposed to happen before the "end of the age," but I don't know if I'm ready to make that declaration. That same book says that no one except the Father -- not even the Nazarene himself -- knows the time or day of his return, so it would be mere speculation mixed with a good dose of vanity for me to make such an assertion.
So ... I guess I'll just watch and see what unfolds. But rest assured that if this watchman sees anything I think you need to know, I'll shout it at the top of my lungs.
Meanwhile, could somebody stop the world?
I think I'd like to get off.
