Volunteer SpotlightPosted Monday, September 17, 2012, at 4:14 PM
Shelter volunteer Swietlana shares a moment with Midnight. Midnight and many other delightful cats and kittens are currently waiting to meet YOU!! View our cats at www.salineanimalleague.org.
Swietlana--This delightful lady is originally from Poland. She has lived in a variety of places internationally, and now she makes her home in our small town. We first met her when she and her husband came to the Shelter to look at cats. Discovering that we needed volunteers, she began to come and has been a faithful presence in the cat room for many months now. As often happens when you spend time at the Shelter, one particular cat wormed his way into her heart, and now Vern, or "Lord Vernon", as he is referred to, reigns supreme in their household. Vern even has an international following on Facebook and Skype! Swietlana is also considered the "Shower Queen", and many are the cats and kittens who come in dirty or infested with fleas who have discovered the experience of a thorough bath in Swietlana's loving hands. If you are ever in the Shelter and hear her talking to the cats in Polish, have no fear; she isn't talking about you!! It is such a privilege to work with Swietlana, and we are so fortunate to have her in our Shelter family!
