Puppies, You Gotta Love 'EmPosted Friday, March 23, 2012, at 3:38 PM
We recently had a puppy in the cat room. You might ask why was it in the cat room? That is probably a story for another day; however, suffice it to say that the puppy in the cat room was causing a lot of disruption. Lots of jumping, whining, barking, you get the picture. One of our great volunteers suggested putting a cat into the puppy's enclosure just to see what would happen, and made the comment that it is good for dogs and cats to learn to live together. The cat and the puppy visited for a while, lots of sniffing and such, and eventually the racket ceased. The next day it was decided to put the cat in there to live for a while. It wasn't long before peace reigned again, and each animal was contentedly sleeping in each of their beds. Within a day or so the two were now sharing the SAME bed (as well as their respective food bowls, I'm sure). And then someone witnessed the puppy doing its business in the cat's litter box. The puppy and the cat eventually went to the city for adoption, but their friendship continues to be a source of discussion around the shelter. I guess there's a lesson there not only for cats and dogs, but for people too........it's good to get to know those who are different from you, 'cause you never know when you might be working with/worshiping with/next door neighbors with someone different than yourself. And, you might just find your next best friend.
Have you been to the Shelter lately?? We have lots of dogs of all sizes and shapes right now, including several chihuahuas and a shih tsu. Come see us today!***** Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

It is always good to get to know those who are different from you. Just like cats and dogs. I have never had a cat and dog problem. The dog and the cats take naps together on our farm. What is the problem. Heck they get along together better than some folks from Florida!
