Good News
As I write this article I think back to the year that we have just gone through called 2020. It has been a year of sadness, sorrow, hurt, fear, uncertainty, confusion, disappointment, hate and just down right bad news everywhere you turn. We have seen this country going from a great economy at the beginning of the year to a total downward spiral disaster overnight. A lot of people have not been able to cope with the madness and have tried to deal with it through alcohol, OD’ed on drugs, and even committed suicide. People looking for answers that no one seems to have. People afraid to leave their homes and not go anywhere. Even churches have felt the affect of this virus that seems to not want to leave, even to the point of closing down or just having parking lot service.
Yesterday I put the question on my Face Book page, “What do you hope and pray to see in this next year, 2021”? I have had many responses to this question which mainly are, ‘Peace, Freedom, No Virus, Love, Happiness, and Things Back To Normal and of course More Jesus’s Love’.
Well I’m here to tell you that in a year of nothing but seemingly Bad News there is Good News, in fact it’s Great News to end this nightmare year 2020. In just 7 days from now we will be celebrating Jesus’s Birthday, also known as the Miracle Child who came into this world to save and help anyone who would give their life to Him through Faith. Is this important? Yes, it is. In the song, ‘Tell The Good News’ tells us that Christ was born in a distant land and lived on earth for the good of man. Matthew 28:19 “Go and make disciples of all nations”. There are many songs that tell the Good News that we sing this time of year every year. ‘Go Tell It On The Mountain’ Tells us that we should do what the shepherds did that night when they were visited by the host of angels. Luke 2:17 “When they had seen Him (Baby Jesus) they spread the word concerning this child”. ’Joy To The World, The Lord Has Come’ tells us that we should let our hearts prepare Him room and spread the Good News. Psalm 98:4 “Shout For Joy to the Lord all the earth”. ‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel’ Says that we should Rejoice, Rejoice, Emmanuel shall come to thee O Israel. Matthew 1:23 “They shall call His name Emmanuel”. ‘Arise, Your Light Is Come’ says that we should show forth the glory of our God which shines on us today’. Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come”. In ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ even the angels sing of the glory of the new born King. Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace”.
And there are many, many more songs that tell us that we have a real good reason to be joyful and happy of the Good News that the Savior of the world has come to help us through all the bad situation that we face each day and there are many. If all those people that I mentioned before who have gone to alcohol and drugs and even done away with their life had known Jesus, they would not have been in the situation that they are in now. Yes, we who know Jesus face these situations everyday ourselves but we do not have to face them alone. We put our trust, faith and hope in Jesus and He is always there to help us through. Now there is something that I want to make clear here right now. We should not put our trust, faith and hope in Jesus and Glorify Him just this part of the year every year but we should do it everyday of the year from January 1st to December 31st every year.
Now someone out there right now may be asking, “How can I receive this free gift of Peace, Joy and Happiness”? I’m glad you asked. I would not be a very good child of God if I did not share His Free Love and Eternal Life with Him in Paradise. If your asking this question then you already know that Guilt, Loneliness, Emptiness, Pain and Fear are pretty heavy stuff even if your around other people that you know, but these emotions are very real and Bad News. There is how ever Good News about these emotions and that Good News is found through the Faith in Jesus Christ. Consider what the Bible teaches us about this…
Number one - In John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4; and 1 John 4:8b-10 tells us that God loves us. He loves everyone, not just certain ones but EVERYBODY, no matter what we may have done, He loves us. Number two - Ecclesiastes 7:20; Isaiah 53:6; and Romans 3:10 tells us that we are all sinners and come short of the Glory of God, no exception to the rule, everyone is a sinner. Number Three - Isaiah 59:2; Psalm 66:18; and Romans 3:23 tells us that because of our sin, we are separated from God. Number four - Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; and Romans 4:5 tells us that there is no way we can save ourselves. Number five - Romans 5:8; Corinthians 5:21; and 1 Peter 2:24 tells us that God has removed this Sin Barrier through His Son Jesus Christ. Number six - Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; and John 3:36 tells us that you can receive Jesus Christ through Faith and Number seven - Through Prayer you can trust in Jesus Christ, all you have to do is 1. Admit to God that you are a sinner. 2. Express sorrow or repentance for your sinfulness. 3. Ask Him to forgive your sins. 4. Invite Jesus into your life as Savior and Lord. 5. Thank Him for entering your life and 6. Commit yourself to live for Him. That’s it!
God Loves you, His Son, Jesus Christ Died for you and all you have to do to start receiving His Free Love, Forgiveness and Blessings is to turn your life over to Him, join a church family and make 2021 the best year that you have ever had in your life and leave the old you and 2020 behind in the dust never to be thought of again.
And for all of you that are a child of God, get ready for an amazing 2021 and be ready to be Blessed Beyond Belief. Happy Birthday Jesus, we Love You! ‘Maranatha’
