Daytona 500

The Sweet:

Matt Kenseth Wins: Winning the Daytona 500 could not have happened to a better guy. I just re-watched his after interview and I almost cried along with him. This was Jack Roush's first Daytona 500 win which makes it all the more sweet. The whole team works hard week in and week out and in the last few years have not got the wins to prove it, so congrats to him and I hope this is one of many!

Richard Petty Motorsports: 3 of the 4 Richard Petty teams ended up in the top ten which is huge so I hope they continue this all season. Looks like the King, Richard Petty, is making a good impression on them. I am just hoping that we don't find out that they only had a good week because all the front runners were sitting in the garage.

The Sour:

THE BIG ONE: Is Junior guilty of letting his temper get the best of him or not? I honestly don't think that Jr. did it on purpose I've watched it over and over again and while there is a chance that in the heat of the moment Junior struck back it is more likely that Brian put the block on and the cars got hooked up and shot him into the field. Does it suck oh yeah I hate seeing good cars with potential to make for some great racing end up out of the race or so many laps down that they don't have a chance. Like most things in this sport it's all a racing thing. Makes for some good news though!

Ryan Newman and Joey Lagano have got to be the two drivers most looking forward to getting out of Daytona and on to California. Their weekends ended far from where they wanted them too. Both had their share of back luck Ryan was on his 3 car for the weekend and Joey found himself wrecked in every way possible over the weekend. Both of these drivers should still have a pretty promising season despite their poor showing this weekend.

The Rain: I hate rain ended races especially when there is so much build up to the Daytona 500 and then it has to end with rain. I want one of those unforgettable endings like when Kevin beat Mark Martin a few years back that's the kind of ending you talk about for years to come. Had the race gone the full 200 laps I am almost positive we would have had a different winner so it's kind of a bitter sweet thing when they end with rain.

NASCAR GOSSIP: I'm hearing through the grape vine that our new Daytona winner is going to be a daddy in a few months! So congrats to Matt and Katie Kenseth on their new little Packer fan!

It's all about the sponsors and the money. It's fixed.

Hey Cheese! No body cares if it fixed or not. It's entertaining which now days not many things are. So we all know how you feel so butt out.

Although how many sponsors you have and the money your team can put back into you does have something to do with how competitive you are it does not make a great driver. Nascar is working on leveling the playing field each and every year. You can't honestly tell me you think that there isn't this kind of thing in every sport. The best NFL teams are that because they have the money and the recognition to bring in the good names. It's all about the salary cap. I'm just saying.
